Chocolate Cupcake Bites

Cupcakes are literally the best sweets to serve at a party. They are great because you can serve them both at an adult party and at a children’s party. The difference between these 2 is the design you put on the cupcakes.

While you can throw any nice character on the children’s cupcakes, you must be careful with the cupcakes for adults. Nowadays, adults, just like children, prefer colorful, funny cupcakes.

When it comes to children’s party, you can literally try any design you want. Depending on whether it is a boy or a girl’s birthday party, you can go with the classic, old-school, pink for girls and blue for boys design.

If you want something more interesting, you can try to have themed cupcakes. For example, if your child really likes a cartoon, you can have its name written on the cupcake or have the main character drawn on the cupcake.

This works with hobbies as well. Find something that symbolizes one thing your child really likes and have its name or drawing written or drawn on the cupcake.

Other than that, you can also have your child’s name written on the cupcake. This works perfectly if you have a small family gathering instead of a big birthday party at a rented place.

Now, it depends whether you decide to make the cupcakes yourself or you order them. When you order them, you can obviously tell the person in charge how you want them to look like.
You can tell them whether you want cupcakes filled with chocolate, vanilla, other cream or a few of each. Meanwhile, if you decide to bake them yourself, you might not have the time necessary to bake 3 types of cupcakes, maybe you don’t even have time for one type.
Also, if you order the cupcakes, you can tell the person in charge what design you want for the cupcakes. He or she must have more specific tools than you, and they will be able to create designs you couldn’t at home.
However, baking the cupcakes yourself does have some advantages as well. First of all, the price. You will not spend as much money if you bake them at home because the ingredients are quite cheap, not to mention that there are not many ingredients. When you order them, you don’t really pay the composition, the ingredient, you pay the actual work.
All in all, I believe cupcakes are a genius idea for a child’s birthday party. Recently, I’ve seen that many people quit the idea of having a great cake and choose cupcakes and a small cake instead.
I’ve seen it even at weddings. The bride and the groom had their regular cake and the guests each had a medium size cupcake. They looked exactly like the actual cake, only they were smaller. The design and the ingredients were exactly like the regular cake’s. I think it’s an original and really fun idea.
If you want to make your own cupcakes, here are a few of the recipes we like:

Chocolate Cupcake Bites

Recipe Chocolate Cake Crumbled
1 cup chocolate sauce (melt 3/4 chocolate chip morsels into 3/4 cup half & half)
4 oz Raspberry Vodka
1/4 cup Raspberry Syrup (thaw frozen raspberries and strain syrup)

Mix together to form cake pop dough.

Step 1:  Dip the tops into white candy melts.  Let Dry

If you don’t have a cupcake pop mold you can make these round!  They will look great that way too!

Step 2:  Drizze the chocolate onto the tops going around in a circular pattern.
Garnish with a mini M&M!

Taken off their sticks as “Cupcake Bites”!  Whenever I make these I always put them on a stick first and then take them off.  I just find it easier to dip and work with when they are on a stick.  You can fill the hole in the bottom with a little chocolate at the end.

You don’t have to be an expert to do these.  Trust me I am not good at drizzling the chocolate on the top but I think they still look good enough to eat!  And after a couple of “these” pops no one will care!!!

I’m always playing around with different ways to display my Cupcake Pops.
(Wilton has a new cake pop display out…. shown at the end of this blog post.)

But I really like playing around with styrofoam and adding layers.

For this one I have two different sizes and a round styrofoam ball (cut in half for the center).  I secured the display with toothpicks.

A few little flowers are glued for decoration!   I try to keep it simple and let the Pops get the attention!
My Favorite Cake Tier… (from Homegoods)!

Very Girly, Very Pink!  YUM!

Wilton’s Cake Pop Stand.  You actually can stick the sticks in the other way too.  Not bad… but now you have options…. styrofoam doesn’t have to be boring!
